The students arrived back in Rijeka at the beginning of October! It has been great to start handing out student planners and to connect with students who have either been involved in the past or who met one of the summer project students a couple of months ago.
It's also been really tiring and busy so this weekend I decided it was time to venture out a little bit with the kids. I had been wanting to take them to Kostrena which is only a 15 minute car ride...but we don't have a car so we took a bus, which is always an adventure. It was worth it as you can see from the pictures below. This is the first time the kids had been to "the beach". Most of the seaside here is either a part of the port or so rocky that they have made cement platforms that jet out into the water. We found a little piece of rocky beach where the kids could play. It was probably the last really nice day until Spring. I feel a little bad sharing these pictures because I know many of you who are reading this are looking at snow covered peaks these days. It rains and blows, a cold wind off the sea called the Burra, but the highs h

Love the photos! That's ok about the weather Kristi. I talked to mom and Katie the other day, and they were shopping for sweaters and coats, while I was running around in shorts and 90 degree weather! So strange when we are in the same country, yet things are so different. Enjoy your last nice days, think we are into ours as well. All our love to all of you!
